Before I make my site-specific installations, I create a series of drawings that foretell placement, color and movement. The process of drawing has always been very personal, intimate and poetic for me. After hours, days, and months of planning these installs, meditations on paper are the only way to predict a reasonable outcome and calm nerves. As of 2017, I started to show these drawings along side the large work. Some are refined to articulate and specify ideas, some are very rough. These drawings are primarily made for viewing by the curators, gallery director, and me.
